zexel

the zexel carrier is diffierent in by being gear driven not by the clutch packs inside the old carriers. this means when horsepower is transferred to the rear the gears will lock and turn creating and posi traction, dont forget it still is a limited slip carrier. this is where the strength factor is in compared to the old carriers. far as i know now the zexel came standard in the ss's from 97 and up and in new camaros also. another good thing is that you can use synthetic gear fluid but be careful what ever you do not use vavloline synthetic gear fluid, i have seen to many rears gernade because the fluid will airate, i think thats how you spell it. and i have no idea why that even happens??? thats the only difference i know about these carriers, hope this answers your question.

Yeah thanks that answers most of them. As for the gears they don't come with it like the others do does it? Because it seems to cheap for it to come with the gears installed.

I didn't do a donut I just did one big circle, the rear end didn't spin around. The both tires left dark black patch at first but soon after there was only one. I have to burn them going straight just to make sure the I have lost the posi, but I am sure that I did.

true test for lack of posi is straight line burnout w/ only 1 black line.

anyway, the reason i changed mine is i was getting inside wheelspin everywhere, even in the dry at part throttle

the SLP take-off torsen T2 can transfer 2x torque to the outside wheel for traction in tight turns. i just put one on w/ 3.73s and even w/ the bigger gear, inside wheelspin is much less and even my straight line launches are better. def worth it
