I got my old opti out! Im almost positive this was my problem!

well tomorrow im gonna measure my cam dowel pin and email Comp Cams your other thread so they are aware their cams are ruining peoples optis... this is rediculous! i dont think its too extreme to say comps should owe all you guys new optis.

My 94 did this when the optical portion of the Opti died, it took 2 or 3 months to go downhill until eventually it would not idle or run at all, it also ran hot as time went on. Thank goodness for Freescan.

If you ask me, it is the responsibility of the installer to be sure the dowel is the right length.

Because the dowel is a "fitted" part, I'd venture to guess all cam maufacturers will take that position.

There are 2 diffrent pin legnths for diffrent years, so Comp sticks one in there and expects you to do the inital measuring. For some reason I expect this to be the reply you get from them.
