Thumbs down I burnt my fuel pump up

I was running low and i didnt feel like putting gas in it cuz it was the last day before i put it in the shop for winter and i ran completely out and fried my pump....any of you guys done this....hope its not to hard to put a new one in....i was going to get a high performance one from summit.

i have run dead out of gas numerous times...how did you know your pumps shot?

That sucks. I always fill up at a quarter, fuel gauge sucks in our cars.

Yep...running your car out of gas is a good way to burn it up. Will it start at all? Usually, one instance isn't enough to kill it.

You have two methods to replacing the pump; dropping the tank, rear, and exhaust, or cutting an access panel in the trunk.

not at all hard.....im not sure about dropping everything tho, i just cut the access panel - never know when u just may need to get back at it again in a hurry. also, i'd look into the kits from racetronix. The $150 f-lt1 kit is what i went with, and allows you to retain factory setup.
