LT1 Based Engine Tech 1993-1997 LT1/LT4 Engine Related

I blew the ignition sensor and car died. . HELP!

I blew the ignition sensor and car died. . HELP!

So im cruising around earlier today, car is running perfect and then BAM car dies. After trying to start it several times i started taking a look under the hood. I notice that the ignition sensor blew. I replaced it and it fired right up. No problems on the drive home. So my question is why or how would that fuse blow?

Also my car a 1997 trans am full exhaust, cam, 1.6 RR, and some other mods. All mods installed at least 3 years ago.

hmm

it could be a bare spot in a wire that just happend to short out for a sec. thats happened to me.

What is the "ignition sensor"? Do you mean the IC Module?

Look at the fuse diagrams and listing in your Owner's Manual. That will show you what components are on each fuse. Then you can systematically check each load on the fuse to see which one is causing the problem. If you don't have an Owner's Manual, Shoebox has a link to online manuals:
