96 z here, did the basic free mods, and got FIPK, what other mods can i do that do not affect fuel mlg...car has 86k now and is daily driver that will have alot of mlg commuting to school, so cant do gears, cant do converter, nitrous and other forced induction is out of the question for personal reasons, besides exhast what all can i do? Also how would a hotcam kit afftect gas mileage????

 

Put a 50-75 shot of nitrous on it. Go with a 1step colder plug like a NGK TR6, and suprise people when you smoke the crap outta them. With a wet nitrous system a 75 shot on the motor should be totally safe!! later ~~~~~~rob

 

in order to make more power you need to burn more gas (unless your running rich)

you also need to spend money

 

Dude there ain't much left that don't cost... maybe a replacement muffler but you ain't gonna gain much without engine mods to get the potential. Maybe a shift kit...labor will cost you if you don't do it... LT1 Edit if you can get in on a good GP.

Some handling mods are relatively cheap. Upgraded pads, a good set of lca's, larger front swaybar if you autocross... you're just waistin' money unless you're gonna take advantage of these things.

 

exhaust is THE ONLY mod that will give you power and actually improve gas mileage... granted you dont have a lead foot
