HP with hotcam

I don't know about you but I sure lost some low end torque after adding the hotcam. But I also have single cat shorty headers/y pipe and an ORP (no cat). I think that lack of backpressure adds a lot to the off idle torque loss. With the stock cam/manifolds the car used to pull out in first gear without any throttle, it definitely wont do that now. Mine is much more challenging to drive in bumper to bumper traffic than it used to be, even if for a small cam. The midrange to top end pull now more than makes up for that little issue though

Re: HP with hotcam
I really liked my Hotcam when it was in my T/A. I went from running stock 13.80's@100mph to 12.50's@108mph with stock 3.23's. My mods were Hotcam kit, AS&M headers, 2800 Vigilante, CSI W/P and a tune from a fellow memeber from here. I spent a little over $1,000 and p/u almost 1.5 seconds! I eventually palyed with the tune and swapped to 3.42's and ran 12.31@110mph before I changed setups. Thats the bad part about dragracing it's never fast enough! Later Clint
