How to use seafoam??? Should I get some???
How to use seafoam??? Should I get some???
Hey guys I've been reading lots on here about seafoam seems to be a pretty good 10 dollar or less investment. But I have not found anything that clearly states how you apply it. Do I run it in the gas tank? Is there a way to put it in the intake manifold? How does it work what should I use? I'm not having any problems with my car but I've read so much good stuff about seafoam I can't help but think it might make my car run even better especially since I dont drive it hard enough to knock carbon off the pistons etc...
Thoughts on this?

You can put it into your fuel lines through your gas tank, crankcase through your oil filler tube, and into your intake manifold through the brake booster line. I bought mine at NAPA and it has directions on the bottle. Here is a nice how to write up.

It makes a Quad 4 engine smell bad/smoke horrendously. It did have noticabley better idle quality for a few weeks though.
Really your best bet is to run a quality fuel injector cleaner consistently through the system
I use Lucas. Its expensive, but works well.
Every other tankful, I put some in. Not the whole bottle, SOME lol.
FWIW: When I got my car, it was totalled and sat for 8 years without running with fuel in the system. All 8 injectors were totally clogged. I soaked them in really strong carb cleaner for a few hours, put them in and they sprayed nice cones. Using injector cleaner frequently, they still produce a perfect very fine cone of fuel. It also says that the Lucas stuff cleans pistons/heads/valves etc. and lubricates the cylinder walls, so you dont have to worry about it taking the oil off the cylinder walls and causing wear because of it.
