Delteq or LtCC?

I really am wondering which one will give more Hp and is alot better of an ignition system. I am leaning tword the Ltcc because it has 4 more coils but i have also heard good things about the delteq. I have heard and seen the post on ls1tech.com but i would like anyones feedback about either 2 on here. It just seems like the Ltcc is going to be better all around due to the double amount of coils. Thanks~!

Unless your present ignition system is defective and/or you are spinning in excess of 6400 rpm, I don't think there will be more horspower with either the LTCC or Delteq.
The Delteq and LTCC eliminate the high voltage from going through the Opti-Spark.
You can't go wrong with either.

Advantages of the LTCC:
1) One coil per plug -- not a "waste spark" system.
2) Has NOS retard etc.
Disadvantages:
1) You have to fabricate the coil mounting.
2) More electrical cables to run.
3) I think you have to purchase the coils separately.

Advantages of the Delteq:
1) Easier to install.
2) A more complete package -- unless you buy the "bare bones" kit to save money and buy the NorthStar coil paks yourself.
3) A sealed unit -- keeps moisture out.
Disadvantages:
1) Waste spark system -- but really doesn't hurt anything...the LT5 uses waste spark too, it is a proven system.

Re: Delteq or LtCC?

I'm running the Delteq system, and it works wonderfully.

The other thing that there is an issue with is if you want to add an ignition box to the system (MSD). I believe the LTCC comes with a bunch of features into it such as a rev controller, and other items, whereas the Delteq you have to buy one of the DIS boxes which run about $250 to get all the extra features.

Personally, I know of a lot more people running the Delteq without issues than LTCC people. This is partly due to the LTCC requiring a decent amount of fabrication work to get it to work properly, as well as costing more initially I believe.

Plus I know that the Delteq CS is wonderful, and if you have any problems they will do anything to help you get it running; I've infact heard of one of the guys who built the system actually getting on a plane and going to see someone who couldn't get it to work when the system first came out.

Re: Delteq or LtCC?

I've driven cars with both systems. My TA has an LTCC on it and I couldn't be happier. It has a built in rev limiter, nitrous/boost retard (RPM based), and a 2-step. It definately isn't the cheaper of the two systems. Considering several people have run LS1 coils to over 1000 rwhp, I'd say it's enough for my needs.

Neither system will give anymore horse power than the other or even stock really.

Re: Delteq or LtCC?

Another satisfied Delteq customer here! Complete kit and it was very easy to install. Fixed my ignition problems after i had already replaced 2 cap/rotors within 3 months.

Re: Delteq or LtCC?

Delteq is a great system but I think it has one limiting factor and that's using it w/ boost applications and stand alone ECU's. Other than that it's great and I like mine as well.
