How to tell if the cam was ground incorrectly?

How to tell if the cam was ground incorrectly?

Well, just like the title says. How can you tell this? Ive done replaced so much crap on my car and its still not running right. Im beginning to think my cam wasnt ground right.

Get a degree wheel and a dial indicator, then you can do it.

Was the cam installed at the right ICL? Dot to Dot is not always exactly right, the only way to know for sure is to get a degree wheel on there.

A degree wheel will let me know if the cam was ground right? I dont have to pull it back out to tell do I?

And what is ICL???

you can do everything you want to do with a degree wheel & dial indicator. it will give you the lift and when they open and close, in reference to crankshaft degrees.

so that will tell me if the cam isnt ground properly then? theres still a few little things we have to check out, but i hope thats not my problem.

In recent years, it seems far less likely that there's an issue with your cam grind...

Even if you put a degree wheel on it, the only thing that'd fit on an engine in the car is probably going to be something small in diameter & less precise anyway...

I'd suspect something else personally, but it never hurts to check

Theres still a few small things to check ,but with my luck we still may not find the problem. I will let you all know if I ever get it figured out.
