need to know if anyone has found a limit on the stock crank. looking for a budget rebuild but gotta know how far i can go with the stock crank.

 

Well i dunno what the limit is on s stocker but i just bought a Scat 9000 cast stock replacement and when i ordered it the tech said they are good to 600 hp the crank was only $175 i know to grind my stock crank it was going to be $75 so i figured toss in the extra $100 and have something better i highly doubt a stock one would hold up to 600 hp but im sure someone will chime in and say they sprayed the crap out of a stocker but why chance it

 

(To me) its not worth the trouble to pay to have the stock one turned, polished, and balanced with a new assymbly. I would at least do a scat crank.

 

600 rwhp is starting to approach the limit.
