MAF screen at 370rwhp?
MAF screen at 370rwhp?
I realize the MAF screen is not a huge restriction on a nearly stock LT1. I ground out the center divider years ago when I first got my car. I have taken the screen in and out over the years and never noticed any difference in idle quality. I dynoed about a month ago and today I realized the screen was installed at the time. At my HP level, is it a restriction at all? Would I see slightly higher dyno numbers without the screen?
People have said any HP increase is not worth the other issues that come with Porting/descreening the MAF. What if you have no issues? My car has been fully dynotuned with a wideband twice, once to get a baseline, and a second time to really dial it in.
That thing sure looks restrictive.

Re: MAF screen at 370rwhp?
I took my screen out on teh dyno, my car stayed strapped down and everything, and i gained 3rwhp when i was only at ~280rwhp, and the a/f stayed the same...
And how are you at 371rwhp n/a with the stock heads?

Re: MAF screen at 370rwhp?
The heads have LT4 size valves in them, no port or bowl work at all. Also, I run 11.8:1 compression due to my block being decked to zero and a thinner head gasket. I run a CC306 cam with 1.6 RRs/Comp type Rs too.
Gonna dyno again next week. Only changes will be WS6 Ram air setup(had LPE CAI) and no MAF screen. We'll see..
