How much does it cost to have cam put in professionally. Just the labor no parts.

 

My guess would be anywhere from $600-$900. Its gonna be a lot so your better off taking 1/3 of that and buy a set of tools if you dont have any and then do it yourself. Theres a lot of people on here that can help you out if you get stuck. I had never done any engine work like it before and with the help of these people I did the cam install and it was pretty easy, just time consuming.

It costs so much cause they have to take the heads and pushrods off...you might as well wait until you get some ported heads, etc before you drop the cash....

 

No I have a cam I am just seeing how much it cost to do so I can get a estimate on how much to charge A guy a work.

 

I don't believe you have to remove the heads to do a cam swap. Just the intake manifold and valve covers need to come off to take out the lifters.
