How Much ATF?

I was gonna service my auto tranny. How much fluid should it take? And should I replace the filter? I read that it should take 5 qts. Is this true?

5 qts will put you a bit over.. I know it did for me and I had to drain some.

Try about 4.5, start the car run it through the gears in the garage, then fill as necessary
