Need help hooking up oil & water temp, keeping s..

I'm asking for a friend who has been asked to install a set of mechanical water temp and oil level guages in an LT1 TA. The owner of the car wants to keep the factory guages operational and the installer needs to know how to keep the stockers working. Use a T? What kind? Thanks for the help. I'm not very knowledgeable about electronics so thanks in advance.

Pipe fittlings can be used to "tee" at the temp sensor. If the car is not a 1993, you can put an additional oil pressure sensor on the side of the block above the oil filter where there is a small plug, now.
