It kind of depends what exactly you are asking - your question is really general.
Stock rebuild, but with a cam? The engine isn't hard as far as engines go, it is like a small block Chevy. Getting it in and out can be a pain. The actual build - you have a machine shop bore the cylinders, do the cam bearings, prep the block and maybe recondition the parts you want to reuse, if any - polish the crank, valve job on the heads. They can also reassemble it for you, or they can measure all your parts then give them to you to reassemble - depends on what all you want to do yourself and how many tools you have, and you might not have the skill level to not screw it up. Almost any performance cam will need better valve springs than stock.

Re: How hard?.....LT1 rebuild
As far as cams go if you are going to put in anything bigger then stock then you HAVE TO get better valve springs and probably pushrods.
you could probably get away with the stock rockers for a while but I would just get a set of roller rockers.

Re: How hard?.....LT1 rebuild
as for the build, i dont have a lot of money but am trying to sell the rear moount setup i have and some injectors. I have already had 1 engine go in this car and this is my second ( still trying to figure out what happened to it). I am hoping its not the rings but my luck it probably is. Can bad exhaust valve seals cause air puffing out valve cover vent? This car has been sitting for over a month dealing with problems and i just want to get it on the road again. I am going to pull the heads off tomorrow and see if the gaskets are bad and i will also test the valve seals. I seen videos that u can just put water on the valve seals and see if they leak. any help /suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
