How to figure out compression ratios

Does any one know how or can explain how to figure out compression ratios?

Its the ratio of the maximum volume to the clearance volume of the cylinder.

CR=V1/V2

V1=Maximum Volume (piston at crank dead center)
V2=Clearance Volume (piston at head dead center)

Go to the "stickies" post at the top of the forum listing, and select the one titled "Automotive Calculations on CamaroZ28.Com ". There is a compression ratio calculator there that will tell you all the info you need to do the calculation, like combustion chamber cc's, piston dish or valve relief cc's, head gasket thickness, etc.
