how do you get the rear tail lights off?

my rightmost bulb in my rear passenger side tail light is burnt out... how do i get the assembly off the car? i found the big wing nut under the carpet but when i removed that the thing didn't seem to want to come out.

also, which bulb do i need for that position? is it #194?

There is 2 wingnuts one may be behind your spare. I don't remember if the tire covers it due to the fact I tossed my spare long ago

Behind the spare
' Isn't that on the side tho?

I recall removing the rearmost interior trim panels, then there are plastic wing nuts on the taillight assemblies, that hold it on the car.. [ sorry I don't remember much more... it's been a while..]

There's more like 8 plastic wingnuts that need to be removed on the tailight assembly, 4 for each side I believe. Anyway, you need to pull up the rear panel and reach one wingnut, the others will be directly on the tailight assembly and all you need to do is pull the tailight assembly off and then there's a plastic connector that you need to pull out of the tailight housing, this is where the bulbs are. Pull them off and swap.

Not if he's talking about the REAR PASSANGER SIDE.

The Firebird assembly must be different than the Camaro. There are 2 wingnuts I pulled them just last Sunday to mess with my brake light covers. I am very sure of this.

yep 2 plastic wingnuts... one under the carpet and one under the spare tire. once i got that one out the thing pulled right out, changed the bulb, and pushed it back in. very simple.

although i noticed that i think my car was wrecked on that side, some things looked wider than on the other side of the car, and looked to be re-welded...

I wouldn't be too worried those welds are most likely the factory welds.
unless they look like they were done by a monkey

well the gap between 2 pieces of metal was minimal on the drivers side of the car, whereas on the passenger side the same gap was about 1/3 of an inch wide... not to mention it does look sort of like a money got to it, and there is a little bit of rust where it looks like the paint was screwed up cause of welding.

sucks

but oh well, i'm starting to treat it like a beater car anyways, the paint is a mess, its got the low RPM miss that won't go away, various other problems... sigh, and with only 63k miles too.
