how did they work? how did it know the amount of air coming in the engine???

i'm just curious

i heard they use speed density or somethng, and what the hell is that?

Speed density fuel injection systems calculate engine airflow to estimate the fuel requirement. The PCM uses inputs from the MAP, TPS and IAT sensors. MAP = manifold absolute pressure (sensor), TPS = throttle position sensor, and IAT = intake air temp (sensor) to calculate the amount of air going into the motr and hence the amount of fuel needed.

Less junk to get screwed up I.E. MAF, not as problematic if there's an intake elbow leak.

I've heard that they respond better to mods than ones with a MAF. Anyone know if it's true?

Supposedly that's the truth. It could just be that there's no MAF restricting the intake tract though. Could be a lot of things.
