No... He was serious.. That's all he's got.

I wouldn't sweat the injector timing.. hell, with that theory a carb car wouldn't even run..

As far as ignition timing goes, I still think the best way to get accurate timing is to develop a baseline with a timing light and a homemade pointer... Just like we used to do.. Bring the motor to top dead on #1 and mark the damper 0* against a fixed object. Where it gets tricky on the LTX, is that there aren't degree marks on the damper, you'll have to figure that out yourself

When I was up @ FAST last year, I was told that's really the only way to figure out where the baseline is.. FAST timing all revolves around one single user defined input called "crank reference angle".. Fast recommends putting "6" in for the value, but it can easily be off 4-6* That's alot of degrees if you're spraying or playing w/boost.. Again, you should take the time to figure out the ignition timing in relation to the damper, then you can get some help and compare your LT1 edit values against what the timing light is telling you.. Then adjust (or realize your offset) as necessary..

I don't explain **** very well, but if you want a hand let me know

i didn't not know a lot of stuff posted here, nor did i need i need to.

the optispark uses a an optical sensor based on cam position.

common sense tells me that if i advance or retard the cam- trouble is brewing.

but as always, thank you Dr. Krause for a good read

I would have been fine with a couple degrees, like 2, but not seven lol, hell no. i would actually rather have it retarded than advanced since you get lots of low end with the stroker.
Brady's idea is good. In fact, I have thought about doing this just out of curiousity. Maybe variations here are the reason for the wildly different timing values different people seem to be using sucessfully for similar setups? Since mine runs well, it never seemed to be a high priority though. Agree about injector timing not being critical, not only would a carb not work if this were vital, neither with bank to bank FI systems.

I'd be very curious how the cam thing turns out. Please post what Comp comes up with.

fully agree here on the injector timing.

comp should be getting the cam today....7 degrees IMO is a little far off for it not to be the cam.

well, i guess i wwas wrong, the cam is supposedly correct.

realistically what are my options here with the LT4 ED Timing set with the cloyes oversize crank sprocket. and depending on what solution isused, how is that going to effect my opti/pcm tuning?
