The PM (Powdered Metal) rods are formed using a near net shape hot isostatic forming process and because of this, have 1) very "small" weight bosses, and 2) no visible "parting line" along the rod sides/edges. The "pink" rods are formed by a traditional hot forging process and will have 1) standard size weight bosses, and 2) a visible "parting line" where the forging "flash" was trimmed after forging.

Hope this info helps???

Look at the small end of the rod...Does it have a large balance pad, or is it rounded? Rounded=PM rod...Balance pad=Pink rod.
