hmmm...started fine 1st time then...

So went to get my car outta storage today been like 3 mo sence i started it. Went there started it up started perfect, let it sit for 15 minutes, then drove it for 20 minutes home listening to my stereo. I then came home turned the car off, went inside took a leak grabbed a pop came out and tried to start the car but it just cranked like twice then it wouldn't start. Hooked some jumper cables up and then it started just fine.

My question is why would it start up for the 1st time right away then when i try to start it a 2nd time it wouldn't start? i'd think the 20 min drive shoulda been enough to charge the battery.

not if the alternator went
you can drive for a while on just the battery and run it down
if the alternator is shot
