???????????drive belt for the starter????????????????? You must mean the Alt??

Disconnect battery,
Remove Serp belt ( its a spring loaded tensioner )
Remove Alt

Remove bolt from PS motor mount..Yes remove it!!
Jack up on a secure spot on tranny or motor and the motor will roll up 3-4" and give plenty of access to play arround.

Do not try to remove your Y pipe unless your ready to purchase headers...Bolts snap a Y pipe connections 80% not matter how much penatrating oil you use.

it really isnt necessary to jack up the motor IMO. just pull the altenator and the starter and get them all from underneath.
although, i guess if u have manifolds it may be harder. i have only changed mine since the longtubes so i have no experience with stock manifolds. sorry. happy wrenching!!!

It's very easy to remove. First pull the car up on some ramps, that is the safest way to support it and to get room to access the belt. Then use a socket wrench with a short extension and a 1/2" socket and pull down on the belt tensioner pulley (the one next to the a/c) to get slack in the belt then remove the belt. All you really need to do is move the belt off of the alternator, if you have someone up top to do that it might help. Then you don't have to worry about re-routing the belt when you go to reinstall it.
