How about my cam?

Piggy backing off the other cam thread.

What can you guys tell me about my cam based on the specs?

226/231 .560/.569 114 LSA 1.6RR.

Cam feels strong and runs hard to 6800 RPM but I had a noticeable loss compared to the throttle response and torque of the stock cam.

Re: How about my cam?

Looks like a pretty good cam for the street and occasional strip. Did you get it tuned after the install? My throttle response got better than stock cam and it's a bit bigger than yours.

i had a 224 236 dur cam and lost quite a bit of off the line torque it felt like. i ended up going to something smaller since my cars 100% street duty

Got some valve event specs or anything else? Post up what you've got on the cam card. Who ground it?

Re: How about my cam?

What gears do you have?

A 114 LSA is usually for emissions or boost but I didn't think that was a concern in Detroit.

For a non-emissions NA car I wouldn't run one that wide, but if it is in the car and you like the power don't overthink it.

A M6 car should have at least 3.73s if not 4.10s the double overdrive soaks it up and it will help lowend a LOT.

Stock gear. Emissions isn't a concern but I wanted the 114 for the smoothness.

I am going to buy a 4.10 gear in the next week and have it installed while it's in storage.

So once I put in the bigger gear it will probably wake it up a lot and maximize the cam? I ordered a new set of headers which should be here tomorrow so that should free up some of the blockage I'm getting from the crappy Y pipe that's on my car now.
