How about CC503 VS GM847

Kind of wanting to see where peoples experience and opinions can take me on this one. I know I'm going to be tossing a cam in next for my car in my sig. I'm also planning on grabbing some 1.6 or 1.7 roller rockers to compliment the cam.

I'll be doing this with stock heads for the moment but plan on either porting, or buying new heads later on. I'm going to also be running 3" true duals with an x-pipe in the middle.

Also, I love the lope of a big cam. My end goal is to have a Vette killer. lol.. There's a guy around here with an 04' Vette and he's got a little work done to it.. As far as I can tell, he's got a Corsa exhaust and some clutch upgrades. I think he tossed on some headers too, but I'm not to sure.

I got my *** handed to me at a light with my stock exhaust. He didn't even really try is the part that hurt the most.

All help and suggestions are awesomely appreciated.

I have a brand new LE1 cam for sale that could be complimented by heis heads later on . I have heard the 503. they sound healthy and run pretty strong. might be big on a stock head though

gm847 with 4.11 gears and you'll eat that vette, street tires will become useless. cam surge on that thing sucks though.

I'm more than willing to toss in a vac-canister to take care of the surge.. I'm just wondering what people think the better cam is over-all.

use 1.5 rockers on the GM cam it makes more power past 5500 using the 1.5 rather than the 1.6 or 1.7

Why is that? Also, does anyone else have any input on the cc503?

The title made me laugh.

there's no comparison between a 503 and a 847.

That's like comparing a water balloon to a Grenade.

Don't pick a cam because of the sound, you pick a cam by its performance and how you plan on using the car. 503 is a good daily cam, 847 is a weekend cam. There's so many combinantions in between those twho than car be done it's pointless to compaire them. Figure out what you want out of your car exaclty, then take it from there.

vaccum cannister wont do anything to the surge. It'll help your brakes and steering etc., but if that is not a problem witht he 847 unless you fall below 550rpms
