Another new noise...

Man this car seems to be making all kinds of new noises now that I drive it everyday. Whenever I shut off the car it makes a whistleing noise, its not that loud, but just seems really wierd, cant really pinpoint where it is coming from.

I know this is just so random, just wondering if anybody has ran across this problem before. Im gonna try and pop the hood and listen when someone turns the car off for me. But if anybody has heard of this, im always open for suggestions. Thanks...

Re: Another new noise...

Check your antifreeze. Its really common on Dodge 2.5L I4's. We get them alot at the garage I work at. It usually is just a little bit (Like half a gallon low) on antifreeze. For some reason, its enough to make a goofy slosh/whistle noise. Add antifreeze, call it a day.

And, my car, for sure, makes the Shhhhhhtttt. Noise from my CAI when I shut it down.

yeah, i think i know the CAI noise... that is nothing new... ill check out the antifreeze level when it is cold and see.

Hardcore... did you add it directly to the radiator or to the reservoir? Also was it 50/50 mix or straight up antifreeze?

Re: Another new noise...

50/50 mix and if the rad is low, we dump it in there, sometimes its pretty close though so we just would pour it in the overflow.

I havent seen this happen on a LT1, but its starting to seem common on the Dodge 2.5's ???

Re: Another new noise...

I had that same sort of noise coming from around my heater core. Like said above, its probably the antifreeze.

Re: Another new noise...

In the hot summertime when I turn mine off you can here a whistling sound coming from the gas cap, sounds like a high pitched weezing. If you remove the gas cap a big rush of gas fumes leaving the tank.

Check you gas cap
