hotcam question

hotcam question

Is it possible to buy, or fab a hotcam w/ the pre 95 smaller pin drive for my 94?

When you get the LT4 hotcam, the dowlpin is the "long" version. Messure the length of the dowlpin that is on your stock cam, if shorter then remove difference with a grinding tool. Its ok if its not perfect to the mm, as long as its not ANY longer then stock you will be fine. U just don't want the new dowlpin to push into the back of the optispark cuz the pin is extra long.

when i did the LT4 hot cam on my friends 94 T.A. i just measured and then used a dremel to cut off the rest... good luck

can you buy a seperate dowel from GM for the hotcam?

Why grind it off. I just used a small hammer and lightly tapped it in until it was the same length as the stock cam. If you want to sell the cam to some one down the road who happens to have a 95 you can push the pin back out with a punch and a hammer ( the dowel pin goes all the way through)
