I also might need a different computer program, who does the best (ed wright, pcm4less,etc.)? I have a guy that does my computer for me, can he get programs from them or someone on here who has their car running good? I just don't think it is running at potential.

Thats exactly what i was going to say, dyno numbers don't win races. Dyno's are a tuning tool, thats it. Different types of dyno's will give different numbers, and as was said before, some might be really out of calibration. Your track numbers are awesome, so who cares what a dyno says, your time slips prove your making good power

I had my car dynoed with the ed wright tune and it pulled 329 whp I only had 299lbft of torque though. I had a friend tune it with tuner cat and it runs much better. I haven't had it back on the dyno for final tuning though. the ed wright tune looked really bad. my maf was disabled and so were my o2 sensors. I would never pay for an ed wright tune again. In fact, I wouldn't take one for free. That guy is a serious hack.
Just my .02

I just had the hotcam kit put in my car and my heads are bowl blended and gasket matched, and I have bigger valves, but I am on my 2nd computer program and I still don't know if my car is at full potential. What do you think I should run? Oh, and do you like your 3600 vig. I thought about getting a 2800 or 3200 but if you get 1/4 times like those, then I might go with a 3600. I think I might be running a 12.8 or so now.
You should be all over the low 12's in perfect weather. I usually run 12.4's on my set up & ran a best of 12.30 with the stock heads. Also I would stick with the 3200 stall. I ran my 12.30 with a 3200 stall but decided to try a 3600 stall when I did my FLP Level 4 Trans. It made no difference in the 1/4 but did get me to a 1.61 60' time. It was alot warmer to so who know... These cars are very inconsistant IMO with time on different days. The weather really effects the LT1's. Any other info you need feel free to e-mail me..

Very true! A4's beat M6's at the track all day long even if the M6 may pull better dyno #'s...

Just to give everybody a little update.. 96 Ram Air is my brother and today I looked at his car for him. He's got a blown head gasket!! It has been loosing coolant for a couple of months, so I checked it out today and sure enough, it is blowing air thru the radiator. His electric water pump blew a fuse back a few months ago and he ran the car really hot, so I figure that is what did it. I really belive that is what was causing his low dyno numbers and the excess of smoke and steam out of his exhaust at the dyno. (he set off the smoke alarm in the building!!)

I dyno'd last month with the hot cam, Edelbrock shorties, no head work, no cat, & cut out and made 329rwhp. Also is Ed's tune a mail order? I was using his mail order tune and had problems for 3 years. Now I use LT1 Edit

I dyno'd yesterday with it being over 100 degrees in AZ and was down about 12rwhp and so was everyone else.

I don't know how much lcking up the converter helps but how did you get more than 75rwhp from a 75 shot?
I was there, so I know what you are talking about. Hot, damn hot!

As for the dyno numbers, my sig indicates what I was able to pull. Just posting for your benefit so you can get a better feel for where you think you really should be.

But then again, a blown head gasket really tells a different story!
