hotcam dyno results

got two pulls on the dyno today here is the results

converter unlocked
tq-327.6
hp-323.6

converter locked
tq-306.6
hp-320.1
the a/f ratio was 13.2-14

on 75 wet shot w/locked converter

hp-414.2
tq-429.4

the a/f ratio on the last run was over 15.1 so i didnt run it any more

i think the motor only numbers are a little low for some reason.

i'm not going to judge and i dont know why you mean by "level 1 heads" but cars with the same mods less head work have pulled about where you are. i'm just going to blame weak head work. still nice #'s btw.

I dunno....

Most people with just the hot cam will hit those numbers, and you have head work done plus LTs. I would think you would be at about 340 or so??? I maye be off, but I think these #s are considerably low.....

Hey 96-RAM-AIR
Welcome to the board. I see that your basically a new member.
I think those are nice dyno numbers. Those numbers are better than mine
But actually, I can't comment if they should be higher or lower because I don't have an auto.
I just know that once you take your car to a dyno...it's good to get some positive feedback even if dyno numbers could have been highter, lower or whatever.

Those are good numbers to me coming from an auto. Are those track times on the spray or NA? One day I'll be that deep into the 12s.

Take Care,

Tim

Thumbs up

Most people w/ just bolt ons n hotcam pull those numbers, w/ the heads u should be putting out more power and running a little faster then a 12.4

i agree the numbers are a little low,why i dont know everything looked good.
the times i have is na havent ran it at the track on the 75 shot,it was way to lean to take to the track
i think its just a P.O.S in bad need of a stroker motor

screw the dyno. not very many of the people who will judge your numbers run 12.4s, so i wouldn't sweat it much.

I pulled 330 with a manual so 327 w/auto and light headwork seems to be in the same ballpark as me.

nice #'s

EDIT: Now if only I could figure out how to get 1.7 60's without destroying my rear...

13.2 is ok, but 14 is too lean. I've seen best results with 12.8@peak torque, and 13.1@peak hp.

Nice #'s. Your similar to me with the mods & Dyno's. What was done to the heads? I am in the slow process as of now putting on my GTP Stage 2 heads so I was jusdt curious as to what was done to your heads..
Your track times are very similar to mine too..

what was the tempurature like there when you dyno'd?

I dyno'd last month with the hot cam, Edelbrock shorties, no head work, no cat, & cut out and made 329rwhp. Also is Ed's tune a mail order? I was using his mail order tune and had problems for 3 years. Now I use LT1 Edit

I dyno'd yesterday with it being over 100 degrees in AZ and was down about 12rwhp and so was everyone else.

I don't know how much lcking up the converter helps but how did you get more than 75rwhp from a 75 shot?

I'd say your numbers are right on being an auto with light head work.

Take it to another dyno if you can. It would be good to get a pull on another one to see whether it was off or not. Not all dynos will read the same, some are horrible due to bad calibration.

Hey Smokn '94 Z, you have some nice 1/4 #'s. I just had the hotcam kit put in my car and my heads are bowl blended and gasket matched, and I have bigger valves, but I am on my 2nd computer program and I still don't know if my car is at full potential. What do you think I should run? Oh, and do you like your 3600 vig. I thought about getting a 2800 or 3200 but if you get 1/4 times like those, then I might go with a 3600. I think I might be running a 12.8 or so now.

Your #'s may be a little low, but when you are running in the low 12's, WHO CARES?
