Hot Cam Kit........Do I need Stall?

I have my Hot Cam Kit ready to go in, and PCM 4 Less will be doing the programming. Will the stock stall be OK? Any drawbacks?
Thanks for your help.

The idle speed will be around 800 RPM for the hot cam. You can use your stock stall but your car will want to crawl at the stoplights.
A higher stall will also help you get in the powerband righ away. A 2400 stall does a nice job on a hotcammed LT1.

I agree. But I used my car as a daily driver/fun car, no real drag racing. The 2400 stall I had worked nicely with the XE 224/230 I had with an 850 idle. Solved the creeping when at a stop, helped a little with utilizing the power range of the cam a little better too.

If you do drag race, don't screw around with the big heavy (and hot running) 2400 stall. Get a real 9" 3000.

As always, with either stall (or even if you keep your stocker), install a trans cooler with that cam. Super cheap insurance.
