hot cam install trouble with overheating/poor runnin'

ive been battling some troubles after heads/hotcam/electric water pump install.. I had to eliminate the aluminum coolant tube passing from the back of the drivers sides to passenger side head. i screwed in a barb and connected a heater hose with a T in it between to the two, then ran another hose from the T to the radiater, right below the cap where the original piece went. ( the tube got bent up and i couldnt get the bolts to thread right in the head). Im having several issues. the car runs great when started and will idle cool in the drive for over 30 minutes. if i take it out for a short run, it often gets hot, runs like crap, and starts puking coolant from the overflow. it boils as well. been bleeding off air, but cant seem to overcome this issue. any ideas? i also had a bent pushrod and had to readjust the rocker arms.

If its pukin coolant from the overflow tank you could have hooked the hoses up wrong on the radiator. The little flimsy hose is suppose to hook up right under the radiator cap(Thats the overflow line) and the line that use to go to the TB but now goes you the back of your heads is suppose to go on the second one down from the cap.

Oh yea that'll make a difference. Whatever is connected to the lowest connector is pressurized along with the rest of the coolant system - this should connect to the steam line that goes to the back of the heads (or to the TB if you haven't done the TB bypass mod). The top connector is used to bleed off excess coolant system pressure, thus it should be connected to the overflow tank.

let me see if i have this right.... the line from the back of the passenger side head goes to the second line down below the radiator cap-the one directly below is for the overflow-right? (man i would LOVE it if this were my problem!!!)

Sent you a PM. Also, I wanna know what you think of the LT4 hot cam after you get things running "cooler". I'm going to do the same installation over this winter (that or the XE 227/233 from combinationmotorsports.com).
