Hot Cam in!

After almost 2years I finaly drove my car. It started off as a blown head gasket, and then I got a case of the (I might as well's). I bought a used engine (18'000) Had the heads shaved and valve job, bought the hotcam kit, new timing chain, all new gaskets, Slp shorties + loudmouth, k&n, MSD wires, prothene mounts, madz28 tune, cleaned and painted everything including the engine bay. I also got a fuddle 3400 stall +transgo+cooler. Theres probably 20 other things I bought, but thats the main stuff. It started right up, and sounds MEAN. I love it. The question I have is should these rockers be completely quiet? I've read many posts about this, and most say they should make noise. Mine are making a little noise, when you put your ear down near the valve cover. I had a mechanic look at the car and he said they should make no noise. Thanks to everyone who answered any questions I had over the last two years. I couldn't have done this with out this web site. thanks

Re: Hot Cam in!

Does the mechanic specialize in LT1's? They will make a little noise, that's why people switch over to the LT4 KM.

Re: Hot Cam in!

The mechanic said he worked on a couple of stock lt1's. This is the only thing I'm worried about, because after all this time I don't want to break something.

Roller rocker are nosier than the stock ones. They will sound like a sewing machine. Now if its a loud clack, they are probably too loose.

Re: Hot Cam in!

The rockers that come in the HOTcam kit do make some light tapping noise- it is normal.

Your mechanic is right about the stock rockers, they should not make any noise.
