Hose Question

I need a new hose the goes from the passengers side valve cover to the TB. Anyone have a part #? I looked on shoebox's site but couldn't find it. Kinda sucks, I just ordered my head gaskets from gmpd and forgot about the hose, mabye my dealer will have it for me so I don't have to pay another $10.50 for shipping

I bookmarked this thread, good for off-hand part numbers when needed

I took mine off

Its been a month. I cut the hose off and left the plastic part still in the passenger isde valve cap. And the throttle body I sealed off. Reason why is becuase oil was shootin out alittle and went into my throttle body.

When I did my head swap, the hose was bad, so I just replaced it with regular rubber tubbing.

So now you are sucking dirty air into your engine? Good solution.

Sounds like now it is "shootin out" oil all over the valve cover........

+1 for shebox and injuneer Hose is there for a reason, its ment to burn off the blow by that you may encounter, correct? I may be wrong but thats my understanding

Thanks for the part #, I'll have to check it out at the dealer today

No. The PCV valve, on the drivers side of the intake manifold pulls the blowby out of the crankcase and the lifter valley. The line from the TB to the valve cover is meant to supply clean, MAF measured air into the valve cover, and pulled through the crankcase by the PCV valve vacuum.

It only flows from the valve cover to the throttle body when there is no vacuum, or if there is more blowby than the PCV valve can handle.

??

Would that hose heat up the throttle body from the passenger valve cap from the crankcase? I put heat tap around the nipple of the throttle body where the hose hooked from. Car runs good and I did it for two reasons, 1.) oil was spittin out from there, 2.) I don't want hot air going in there. Isn't that for the throttle body blades so they don't ice when its cold??

No as Injuneer pointed out air flows from the TB through that hose to the valvecover.

If oil was spitting out from there then there was a PCV system problem. A non-functional PCV system as you have tried to create is VERY hard on oil.
