Smog fitting is different on the passenger side header, otherwise the same

Re: Hooker shorties question

the smog fitting being different is that a problem can the headers still be installed and smogged or no?

Re: Hooker shorties question

I believe they can still be used but a different adapter needs threaded in? Headers should be fully functional/emissions compliant once you get the threading right. Contact Hooker or do a search on the board - I know this was discussed previously as I ran across the info while researching the headers before I bought them.

BudM helped a lot with the opening of the collectors - even tho I still haven't done it yet ;p

Re: Hooker shorties question

their might be some fabricating involved. you could always just strip the emissions.

Re: Hooker shorties question

The difference is the AIR system plumbing. On 93s the pipe is different and it threads into the header. On 94s the pipe bolts on. As far as passing smog the only way would be to replace the 94 AIR system with the 93 setup and hope they don't know the difference. Probably more trouble than its worth.
