Hooker Longtube guys

ok trying to get these new headers put on so i can finally start the new stroker setup but.... having trouble installing the passanger side header. Do you have to jack the moter up on that side to get it in or what. (wish i would have put it in when i had the tranny out a few days ago now.)

Re: Hooker Longtube guys

Jacking up the motor a little bit or popping off the passenger valve cover are a couple of tricks that get the job done.

What got it in for me was jacking the car up VERY high. Dangerously high, then it slipped right in. I had to put my jack on cinderblocks with plywood on top. Make sure to invest in the good jackstands for safety reasons

Just take the motormount loose, and jack up the engine several inches. It will go right in.

I had to remove the valve cover, alternator, dipstick, and the heater hose that runs along side the engine. Do this plus lift the engine up (just the passenger side) and they will drop right in.

Same here.. Went right in.. Take the alt. off makes it easier to get your hands in from up top to put the bolts in.. And ofcourse make sure the start is off.

Re: Hooker Longtube guys

I didn't have to touch the motor mounts on mine. That was before I got the 2 post lift and had to get it way up off the ground to get them in from the bottom.

I guess the next post will be "I can't get the motor mounts to line up"
