Honker Anyone?
Honker Anyone?
Who has the Callaway Honker?
http://www.callawaycars.com/Camaro/camarohonker.htm
Questions:
How easy to install? How much? How did you like it? Does the Air filter pops out like the K & N? Is there a need to remove anything other than the OEM plastic duct and OEM Air filter Box?
and last... Who do you like the looks?

The "Honker" was my first mod, in 1994 about 3 weeks after I bought the car new. Honker + Borla was good for 3/10's. You can get the same product under the "Moroso" name. Check Summit or JEG's.... probably cheaper than Callaway.
Quality and fit was good. After removing stock duct and box you need to add a "filler plate" that blocks off the engine bay from the under-fender area. That plate is used to attach the air tube on the top and the filter on the bottom. You will need to remove the louvered plastic cover under the fender, and that requires you to loosen the air dam and work your way around removing a lot of screws that hold the plastic panels in place. Put a little WD40 on the inside of the rubber filter tube and it will slip right up over the flange on the metat filler plate. Then a good worm clamp holds the filter in place. Mine never came loose in 65K miles. Just use a socket over the bolt that tightens the worm clamp, and a ratchet so you can tighten it well. The filter is right up against the cruise control box so its a little awkward.
Your lucky you have the Z28.... on the Formula/TA you need to relocate the headlight motor control module, which is bolted to the stock air box.
I liked the way it looked.... nothing spectacular, but it was OK.

Sounds about right. I downloaded the Callaway Catalog last nite and everything there is very expensive.
