hey i posted about this once before but now have alittle more detail about it. At around 85 if i hit the gas hard the car sounds like it hits the limiter untill i let off and hit it again. the odd thing is that when i looked down at the rpm's today they seemed way to low to be hitting the limiter, around 4000-5000. Any clue as to what this is, oh and other then this the trans shifts strong so im not sure if its trans related or not.

 

Sounds like you have a miss at 4K - 5K rpm. I'd look for arcing of your spark plugs wires. Let the engine idle in the dark and look for arcing from the wires to the block/exhaust manifold. Your plugs may need to be changed also.
