Unhappy Hit a curb w/rear wheel Brakes rubbing and axle messed up? HELP!

I had a little mishap with a curb this morning on my way to work My brakes are making a "SCRATCH, SCRATCH, SCRATCH... Sound on that side and when I get behind the car it looks like the rear end is pushed slightly to one side. I have all billet aluminum rear suspension and nothing is bent so I am thinking the axle has been pushed in.

I know this happens a lot so what do I do to fix it? Did I just ruin my rear end? Do I buy new axles? Do I buy a new brake rotor? I am not sure what to do to have it taken care of and I need it done ASAP.

Thanks for any help*!

Did you bend a wheel? Yes, the axle may have bent. Lot's of possibilities. Look at the wheel first though. Don't drive it till you have found out what is wrong.

Sorry that your car is damaged

OK UPDATE HELP ME!

I replaced the damaged wheel with my spare salad shooter and the problem is still present. It looks like the rear end Might.. be shifted alittle or maybe not... BUT...

The damage was done to the PASSENGER SIDE REAR

When I take a hard left the noise go's away a lot*

When I take a hard right the noise gets worse.

The noise is definately in the brakes and it is the pad or somthing rubbing on the rotor and leaving a small gouged spot...

I don't knwo how messing up the wheel and hitting the curb hard would bend a rotor..

ANyone know what these Symptoms point to???

Look at the panhard bar and the mounting points for it. Look at the LCA's... put a straight edge on them.

This is sort of a maintenance problem and really belongs on the correct generation "tech" board. Moving to LT1 Tech......

Get the rear safely and securely up in the air. Observe the suspect wheel for wobble when it is rotating. If it wobbles and it is not the wheel, it is the axle. I guess it is possible to bend a rotor without bending the axle flange. You could check the rotor with the wheel and caliper off. Use some wheel nuts to re-secure the rotor and check the runout. If you detect a wobble in the rotor, you probably want to remove the rotor and check the axle.

my buddy did the same thing in the snow in his ws6 he bent his axle shaft and he had to get a new rotor because he drove with the bent axle for to long and wore the rotor in places.

Sounds like my problem. I guess i cna get aused axle from a junk yard and put more money into a series 3 carrier and 3.73 gears I'll do the whole job at once. I have a feeling the axle is bent.... I was moving along and this happened coming out of a turn and it hit pretty hard...

my rotor is allready messed up a bit, but for $100 for power slots I guess I can just do the backs over NO biggie. The thing i'm worried about is getting a 32 inch axle around boston from a junkyard. No places around here have F-bodies.

F-bodies are far from being the only car with the GM 10 bolt rear. You should be able to get one from any junk yard. They can cross-reference which cars would have the right part.

Thats what i figured. It is a 32" axle. What else should I get to do the install. I was thinking of ordering 3.73 gears and an install kit and just having everyhting slapped in there at once. I could probably get away with a new axle seal and bearing for that one side but since the car has 70k on it I should probably do it right
