High/Odd BLMs
High/Odd BLMs
Messed around with the snap-on scanner today, trying to find the power that's missing. No exhaust leaks. No intake leaks that I know of, but there are a couple small tears in the intake elbow if that would effect this any.
BLMs are both 160 at idle. As rpms go up (Say to 3000) one blm does down to around 13x, the other at 160, or maybe 157-158. Higher (say to 5000) one blm is around 130-131, the other is still at 15x or 160.
Any advice?
Also - I had to hack into the O2 sensor wires on one side. It's all soldered, and soldered well, but I guess this could possible fubar the readings? Any advice appreciated.

Re: High/Odd BLMs
If the car smells like its running real rich then Id say you have an intake elbow leak.... of course thats really easy to check. If thats not your problem then either you either need to turn up the fuel pressure if you have an AFPR... or reflash the PCM with a file that has a lower injector constant.
Re: High/Odd BLMs
Will look into that. 30 lb SVOs, but Ion's mail order tune could be off a bit. Anyone else? (IT does smell rich, but its also running through a cat, so it's a little harder to say)
Re: High/Odd BLMs
Dont know if this will help but today I sealed up some splits/tears in my intake elbow and gained alot of throttle response and power back. I knew I had lost some power but I couldnt find out why. Then i seen those tears and thought with that MAF any air that isnt being metered isnt good. Sealed it all up and she runs like new again. At least its a start to fixing your problem.
