High Mileage Oil
Anybody got any experience with Valvolines High Mileage Synthetic? I bought a case of it for my oil change, on a whim, and was just wondering if anyone has any experience with it. Car has 96K on it, just if anyone was wondering. Thanks

High milage oil is B.S. but Restore is good
. The high milage oils can provide some cleaning and seal conditioning benifits, restore on the other hand will not go into anything I own.

High mileage oil has more sealants and cleaners in it. It does not hurt to run it
All I have used is Valvoline High Mileage in my car and have had no problems. It has more conditioners and sealants the regular oil, so as said above it cant hurt anything.

Patman, the oil guru, has a higher mileage LT1 as far as I know, and he is running Castrol Syntec, the german stuff though.
As far as I know, it seems like he really rags on his car ( In on thread a while back he said he floors his car at least once every time he drives it lol ) and says that the oil samples have showed virtually ZERO wear.

I have 146k on my LT1 now and have been using the Valvoline high mileage oil since about 100k, I tried mobile synthetic but my car leaked like no other put the Valvoline back in it and I only see a spot every once in a while.

20W-50W won't hurt anything in your engine including the lifters.It will be good to 32*F and then you will need to go to a 10W-30 for cold cranking.In our service trucks in Alaska that is what we ran except when it got to 0 or below we didn't ever shut them off.We also kept them pluged up to block heaters while they were running below 0.
