I had a problem with rough idle on my 95Z. It was temperamental. This would only happen if I came to a stop light or in heavy traffic and had my clutch pressed in. But given a couple of seconds of this rough idle ~500 rps, it would either come up to 800 and be fine or the car would die. And this did not happen all the time, most of the time the car would run fine. Anyway, today I decided to clean the TB. I did not have a gasket set, so did not remove the top plate. I also cleaned out the IAC. Was pretty gentle with it. Anyway, now the car starts up and idles fine, but when I drive around, the idle sometimes hangs at 1500 or even 2000. Read somewhere that I should lubricate the rod for the blades where it goes in the housing. Is that true. Also, I did not disconnect the battery while disassembling and cleaning. Did this mess anything up in the pcm? When I start her up, it idles fine, it only hangs high when I drive around. Does anyone think it was a different problem to begin with? Please help. This is my daily driver and I need it for work Monday.

I had the same issue after cleaning mine; just dab some oil where the butterfly rod enters the housing and it will be fine!
