Crank question

Anybody know if a LT1 crank will fit in a 96 chevy vortec 350 truck motor?

it should because LT1's rotating assembly is pretty much the same as the older 350s but the motor has to be a 1 peice rear main seal.

Yes, I will "fit". But if your gonna put another crank in an engine, I would HIGHLY recommend having the entire reciprocating assembly balanced before putting everything back together. You'll get a MUCH smoother reving, and longer running engine.

will the balance still be right since the LT1 pistons are lighter than the truck pistons?

It does'nt matter as far as I'm concerned. ANY time I do any internal engine work, I have the reciprocating assy rebalanced to make sure. It's been worth it everytime.
