I am posting this to help any other camaro owners with a high idle. After doing much research on this web site i decided to buy 2 new parts because of my high idle condition. I bought a map sensor(I wasn't happy with the results i got from testing mine) and an air idle controller. The map sensor didn't fix the idle. The AIC did fix the high idle. After installing it I tried re-programming it several times but idle was still a bit high 1,000 - 1100. But after driving around for about a minute the idle came down to 700 at the next stop i made. The car idles perfectly now, very stable and quiet.
