high idle

I think I may have messed up something...

last week I was cleaning my motor and removed the throttle body. I removed all the sensors and and cleaned it with b-12. I cleaned out all the carbon build-up thinking I was doing a good thing.

After aI put it all back together, when I crank the car it reves up to about 2k then slowly back down to 1k and idles there. I figured I may have damaged the IAC. So I ordered one from Jason and installed it. Still the same thing. Since then I have replaced the throttle body gaskets and checked all the vacum lines. I cant seem to find anything wrong.

Has anyone esxperienced this before or know of something I maybe can check??

thanks

it actually idles about 1100 - 1200 rpms. It is to high. before I cleaned the throttle body it use to idle at about 800 rps or so. Now when I am sitting at a light of stopping at one i have to use a likke more brake than normal. like she is wanting to take off.

try resetting your IAC...

hold the gas pedal cracked open (not too far) and start the car and let it run for 5 seconds. turn it off for 10 seconds and then start it back up again.
