Is a high HP LT1 or LS1 more streetable?

OK guys i plan on either putting a LT1 or LS1 in a 1980 trans am. I am looking for 375-400 rwhp. Which one would be more streetable? Also i hear that the LT1 makes more torque. please correct me if i am wrong about that. How much more torque should i expect out of a LT1. i am asking because this is going to be driven on the street all the time and i want low end torque.

thanks
Tom

LS1 will put a hurting on an LT1 NA for NA

the Lt1 will need a bigger cam all else equal because the LS1s head flow God like

LS1 all the way

Yep, I agree
The LS1 is the superior motor.
But if money is a factor the LT1s are very cheap check ebay or speed automotive for a good used motor!

IMO, I don't think motor choice has much to do with it at all. I would be more concerned with cam choice, convertor stall, and gears.
