Hesitation Problem
Hesitation Problem
Hey all, I recently had a small oil leak on the front of my engine which I decided to fix. We removed all the accessories. Once we got the optispark off we noticed a rattling noise coming from within so I took it apart to find that a screw had backed out of the rotor. Keep in mind that the car ran fine before I knew anything about the screw falling out.
To make a long story short we reinstalled everything and replaced the spark plugs while we had a little more wiggle room. After finishing all that we tried to fire the car up and it struggled to start, which I figured it would after having the PCM disconnected. It finally started but ran horrible, stumbling and hesitating throughout the entire RPM range. We realized that we had not positioned the rubber intake piece back on correctly causing "dirty" air to get in behind the MAF. So we fixed the problem and fired the car up again. It idled really good but still stumbled around 2K RPM, however, at WOT it seemed strong and didn't stumble at all. I drove it around thinking the PCM needed to readjust to the cam again when it threw an engine code. We scanned it and found that we forgot to plug the temperature sensor back into the water pump. The car still stumbles around 2K-4K RPM but idles great and runs fine during WOT. I drove it about 20 miles to allow the PCM to work out the bugs but it doesn't seem to be clearing up. The car actually fires up right away, which before it typically took a second or two to start.
Has anyone had any similar experiences that could shed some light on my problem?
