Post Cam is installed!!

Yeas, I finally got it done. You guys who brag that they can do it in 4 hrs, can kiss my ***.. Try it with no power tools & no lift.

Huge thanks to Steve Derty who came from the West side of the state to lend a hand & provide a few tools. I sure couldn't have gotten the pulley off by myself. We did have to go on a magnet run.. 16 of em from Auto Zone. "Is this a practical joke or something?" No pal, just cheap insurance, ring the **** up, we got places to go

Come to find out,we wouldn't have needed them, the lifters were up in the pretty good on all of them. But I sure felt better about it, having them.

I stopped shortly after Steve left last night, after getting the power steering & water pump on. Put the other stuff on this afternoon.

Joe came over right on time, and got to hear her fire up, which she did, right away, without hesitation, and holds an idle better than the last cam. On the way out the drive, it heated up quickly. Shut her down, I knoew what the problem was, I put that radiator hose with the metal tube on backwards, and Steve verified that it has a check valve. You were right Steve, switched it, and everything is fine.

It idles very well, but motor shakes around more, & was vibrating Joe in the seat, which kinda scared me, as he looked like he was enjoying it too much

Drove it 50 miles at nothing above 3000. One more cycle in the morning, change the oil again, then I'm gonna hammer the hell out of it.

Might make it to the track tomorrow to see how it MPH's. Anyone else going to the Corvette get together tomorrow at Milan?

Hey, it was a lot of fun doing what little work we did. It's become so easy to work on these, just time consuming. Glad that radiator hose was all it was, should be good to go now!.

BTW, Last name is Dertien, nickname = DERTY (if you say it fast enough). I'll send you your pictures here in a minute.

I was asked not to give the specifics, but it's in the 230-236 range, with lift around .600 on a 112. XE-R Comp Cam. ARE custom grind.

Yes James. I got the letter. Thanks. Nice to know I have a dealer somewhere Doesn't look too bad, for a stang.

I took Joe out for the maiden voyage. The car pulls very hard on the top, esp from 4000 to redline just before the 4th gear shift.

The car shifts into 4th at full throttle up to 120 now, as opposed to before it was at 115-116 when it shifted into 4th. So it appears to have picked up a little
