Help...windshield wiper problems

Hey everyone...I started my a couple weeks ago and had forgot to turn the wipers off after i had driven it the night before. Well I had a ton of snow and ice on the windshield and the wipers tried to work but all that snow messed them up.

Now when I shut off the wipers they "park" straight up instead of down in the wiper cowl. They work fine when i have them on, but this is getting agrevating. How do i fix them?

All help is appreciated

Angry wipers

Your wipers set straight up when turned off but work fine when running hunh. Since I bought my 94 z28 the wipers work fine but sit about 20 degrees above where they should be when I turn them off. I just get out of the car and pull them down with my hands, but it is a pain. My dad is a mechanic and he says the problem is probably the wiper motor. One of these days I'll fix it; that may be your problem, you may have messed up the wiper motor with that ice sticking incident.

ugh, I have only delt with our wiper system once on a 97 maro in my shop. it was a PITA

no mater what I did I could not get them adjusted properly. I ended up getting a new motor and it worked fine after that. my guess is that you forced the motor off in relation to the transmistion.

you can try taking the wiper arms off and seeing if the spline shaft moves correctly. if it does you can put the wiper ams back in on the park postion. if not you will ahve to get into the motor and try and see if you bent the trans or just misa;igned it
