Help!! Trying to install Accel 58mm TB

I am having trouble with the install of my Accel 58mm TB on my 96 Z28. Particularly in the area of the TPS sensor. My car originally had a round connector for the TPS, and the new TB uses a flat connector, like the early TPI motors. I got the connector for the new TB, and went to wire it up like the previous owner said to (I bought the TB used). Pin A was black, B was blue, and C is grey. But my car has black, green, and yellow wires. Even my factory service manual says that I should have black, blue and grey wires. What's up with this??? I tried hooking it up in every possible combination of wires, but my Autotap either says 100% throttle angle, or 0% throttle angle all the time. You can push on the pedal and the values don't change. It also sets codes for TP circuit voltage high (for when it reads 100% TA), or TP circuit voltage low (when it says 0% TA). What am I missing here?? Somebody please help!!!

Thanks!!

It sounds like you have the wrong throttle body for your car.

Well, it can't be, because all of the LPE TB's use the same TPS, you're just supposed to splice in the new connector. It's just a matter of finding out the correct way of doing it.

Why doesn't the TPS from the original TB fit in the new TB? If your engine is somewhat stock the TB you are trying to use is too large. It will run like crap.

A TPS is a reostat. Measure A to B and this is a fixed resistance no matter what the wiper does. The wiper is on pin C and will show low resistance to pin A when it is rotated toward that end of the resistor and consequently it will read high to pin B. If rotated the opposite direction, then vice versa.

Because it's a DIFFERENT DESIGN. It's for a TPI car, not an LT1, see original post.

My engine is not even close to stock.

Guess again.

A TPS is a reostat.

Really?!?!

Yep, that's how a RHEOSTAT works.
Just to let everyone know, I got the problem fixed. The harness to the TPS had been previously repaired or something, and had the wrong color wires. I pulled the wires out of the loom and found where they were spliced. Replaced them with the correct color wire and put the pins in the connector correctly and it works great now. The car runs much better now that it can get more air in!! Gone is the stumble off idle, and it seems to be much smoother all through the RPM range. Going to do some more tuning to it and will probably hit the dyno next weekend.
