Post Help, nothing when trying to start....

Turn the key, and nothing happens, the starter does not make a sound. Had it running a few days ago after a jump, so I thought it was a dead battery. New battery now, and still nothing. I had the starter checked at a shop, it worked fine for them, and I have power at the starter coming from the battery.

What (if anything) should I detect at the small wire that attaches to the solenoid when the key is turned? Also, my book doesn't show a starter solenoid relay for the '95 model LT1, is this correct? Could it be something with the security module?

clean your battery terminals my did the same thing , also there are some pcm cables that run from the passenger side of car down to the bottom of your car ,your right O2 sensor is in with these wires and a wire that goes to your starter and i think a ground wire too , this whole loom might be sitting on your headers/manifolds, i would try jiggling that wire loom see if will start or jack the car up and follow those pcm wires and make sure there all connected , and that there not burnt, hope this helps ya

You should see 12v on the small purple wire on the starter when the key is turned to START.

It might be a security system issue or even just the neutral safety switch.

Thanks for the replies, but I figured it out. Two days of cursing at my car, and all because the little resistor chip in the key was pushed to one side, and not making contact in the ignition.

So, you should have had the SECURITY light on, but you did not indicate that was the case.

Yes, you're right, I did forget to mention that. I saw it blinking when I turned the key, but I couldn't remember if it always did that when I turned the key, or if it was supposed to stay off. I thought I had remembered it coming on for a moment when I started the car in the past, but maybe I am remembering wrong. Anyways, thanks again for the quick replies.
