Help me...My car is broke again.....
Well i finally thought i fixed my car. I drove it to work for the first time today. I everything was good. I went to the mall after work and i decided to spin my tires up a little. So i did and right after i did it i smelt a weird smell coming from the car. I went inside the mall, when i drove the car out of the parking lot i got to a red light and i smelt the smell again. Something was or did burn up. About 1 min later my "service engine soon" light came back on. My #7 wire hit the exuast manifold because the shop routed the wire wrong. I fixed it and i routed though the metal area next to the manifold. I checked it and it didn't come out so i don't think it was the wire that made the smell. What else could of made the smell and cause my check engine light to come on. I just put my clutch in also. I only drove it like 150 miles since it been in. Do you think i could of burnt the clutch up that fast? It seems to be grabbing good still and it didn't really smell like a burnt clutch. Would a burnt clutch cause the "SES" light to come on?
a burnt or slipping clutch will not cause a SES light to come one. you an get a nasty smell form a burnt wire. And that would cause a SES light to come on. just check all the wires real good. and look at them at night where its real dark at and see if you can see any spark scatter(common problem)that is the easy way to tell if you wires are bad.(they could still be bad and not sprak scatter too)

yeah i guess i can check the wires again. I rerouted the wires on the drivers side. From up top on the passenger side the wires look okay. I'm just praying its not the clutch. It was hell to replace the clutch.
give the clutch some more break in miles bud....they are right, it won't throw an SES light, but you need to give the clutch time to get broken in anyway, so you DON'T have to do it again soon....keep the rpm's in the first half of the band or so for 3-500 miles....good luck with the wires
Do you think i will be okay with the clutch. Or do you think i could of toasted it already? I forgot about the break in period for the clutch because i installed it 1 1/2 months ago. But this is the first time i really drove it because of this damn misfire crap.
